A triangle of compressed, swirling color rises from a white base, flanked by peeled strips of orange and teal. Up close, the cut layers read like marbled cross sections of stone. The work draws on desert landscapes and the slow build-up of rock and sediment strata.

Kate builds up layers of acrylic paint on glass, then peels, cuts and recombines them into a thick, textured mat of paint on paper. Each piece is one of a kind.
