A deep green field punctured by hundreds of small openings that reveal bright, multicolored layers beneath, set above a row of six small vertical strips along the bottom edge. The work draws on desert landscapes and the slow build-up of rock and sediment strata.

Kate builds up layers of acrylic paint on glass, then peels, cuts and recombines them into a thick, textured mat of paint on paper. Each piece is one of a kind.
